The Battle of Three Skilled Vocalists is the Second episode of Produce Camp Asia: Thailand. It aired on February 10, 2024.
Summary[]
The episode starts where it left off, having Krista Shim, Yean, and Mamcù start the vocal battle. The mentors explain that they can sing any song that has already been performed from any group or soloist and that they have 1 hour to rehearse. Yean goes first and sings Mamcù's song "Golden Hour". She starts, but messes up, and asks to try again. She tries again and performs. Krista Shim is next and also sings "Golden Hour". Finally, Mamcù goes last and sings "Got a Hold on Me", which is the song Yean sang for her extra show. In the end, Mamcù wins and is the only challenger to win against the top 9. Between Yean and Krista Shim, Yean is voted to stay in the top 9.
The performances resume after the vocal battle, and the remaining teams all perform. After, the mentors announce the new top 9 based on the votes. Those who performed in the battles keep their spot in the top 9 (Yean, Pream, Coco, Emma, and Mamcù). The ones who didn't (Tegan, Kaylen, Praew, and J JAZZSPER) are told only two of them stay in the top 9: Kaylen and J JAZZSPER. Liliana Li and Ma Liya are added to the top 9.
However, it is then announced that the contestant who ranked 10th is allowed to challenge the contestants in the lowest ranks among the top 9. Tegan is announced as the 10th ranking contestant, and she chooses to battle Kaylen. Tegan wins against Kaylen, and is added into the top 9. The Grand Audition Round comes to an end after, and the constants are given their final grades. A class is the top 9, while class B and class F are based on how many votes each contestant received.
The episode moves on to the girls moving into the dorms and getting settled. After, they are all gathered to learn about their next task: the Theme Song Mission. They have 3 days to learn the theme song, and then the mentors will reevaluate them and put them in different grades depending on how they do. As the reevaluation day comes, groups of five go up and perform the theme song.
After everyone gets their new grades, it is announced that the center of "Summer Dream" is to be chosen. Candidates for center are the top 3 in a vote the trainees did: Yean, Pream, and Ruan, and the next candidates are the mentors picks: MingMing, Emma, Coco, Qiao Yiyu, and Yean, though she was already picked through voting, so they do a random lottery for the last trainee, who is Kittie. They perform the theme song at the same time and everyone votes for who they want as the center.
Ruan is announced as the center during their rehearsal for the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 at ICONSIAM. At the end of the episode, their performance at the event is shown.
