- Lelush was initially going to be a Chinese translator for the show, but the director came to him and offered him a spot in the show due to not having enough contestants.
- He rejected at first, but eventually agreed to be a contestant.
- He actively requested to be eliminated. [1]
- However, he didn't want to be a burden to his team members who did want to debut, so he put in the effort for them despite not wanting to debut himself. [2]
- His blunt attitude and want to be eliminated made him more popular, rather than less.
- Chuang said to him and other random contestants that due to their lack of skills (dancing, singing), they would be acting mostly like a crowd to make it a desirable 101 participants in the first episode.[citation needed]
